If your camera does not show night vision anymore, there are a number of steps which you could take to get the night vision back. These steps are explained in this article.
Step 1: Checking the cables
The first step is to check the cables. When you have multiple cameras you can easily connect the not working camera to the cables of a working camera from which the night vision does work.
Now you can cover the lens of the camera to see if the camera does show night vision now. If this is the case, you will have to replace the not working cables. When you have only 1 camera, you can test the camera with a other (preferably new) cable and take the same steps.
When the nightvision doesn't work after these steps, go to step 2.
Step 2: Checking the camera
Now that it is clear that the problem isn't in the cabling we will check the camera. To check the night vision on the camera itself, the camera should be covered. If the camera is in a dark environment, you will see 1 of more infrared lights on the camera. This means that the infrared on the camera is working.
If the infrared on the camera doesn't reply, it could be switched off. You could turn it back on in the recorder. To do this, use the following steps:
- On your recorder, move the mouse to the camera image of the camera which doesn't show night vision.
- On the right side of the screen an icon appears in the form of a cursor with a cirkel around it ( Foto 1). Click on this icon.
- A more elaborate menu appears. 1 icon in this menu contains the lens of the camera with LED lights in it. If this icon contains red lights, night vision is enabled. If this icon contains white lights, night vision is disabled (Foto 2).
